Message : EsaJii, I think I will just have to learn to read Finnish! Perhaps when I retire, if ever.

Thanks for the great quote from "A Grim Affair". I read it to my wife and we couldn't stop laughing. Then we put the LP on - so worn it will soon be playing both sides at once.

Bought it in Helsinki 1983. Jim signed both the sleeve and the lyric sheet. A treasure.

Hope the snow is clearing, suomalainen.

Message : I think you will just have to get Mikko's book, if you need all these album analyses precisely. Lasse Summanen, guitar on Losing Hold, is on p.147. A sessions guitarist, he had to skip a chord, known to Georg Wadenius, which they requested. The role of Roger Wallis on Fairyport sessions is also explained. Find a local Finn to read it for you.

Am I me of am I a fake? Only I can tell.

By the way, I have the name of the Losing Hold guitarist, a Finn living in Sweden, at home.

Message : Having regained my ability to write in English I will immediately express my gratitude to my Friend From the Fields. Nice, for once, that someone is translating me and not the other way around (in fact, I'm getting close to starting on Kjell Westö but that's another story). Must check the SF Blues a.s.a.p., thanks for the info there, also.

EsaJii, how about starting on the lyrics for "Pigworm" or "Some Several Moons"? Better than sitting down in that bar with Mo and Homer.

Apart from that, i have finished my analysis of "Greasy Kids' Stuff", but I need to know:

1. Who sings backing vocal on the chorus?
2. Who plays the vibes?

Can anyone help?

Message : Well, the lyrics discussion seems to have stalled. I am in fact home, we are stuck in snow, with no plowed street. Jim is snowed in too, if he happens to be in Kansas City.

Life is a Grim Affair

And pretend to be gnomes
No homes to go
They seem to merge in with the tables and chairs.."

Message : Raittinen and Gustavson have been playing together in the band SF-Blues. The album is called Man - Be Careful. You can buy it from http://www.cdon.com/

It is in away mixed soul and blues and the numbers sung by Gutsi are great. The band was temporarily based.

Vilkaisin kirjastossa Soundia ja siinä oli mainos noista keikoista.
Netistä ei tosiaan tunnu löytyvän informaatiota asiasta.

On muuten mielenkiintoinen tuo Juttutuvan keikan kokoonpano. Onkohan luvassa kokeellisempaa musiikkia ja lieneekö tuo vakituisempi bändi?

Message : As the Tanskalainen lost his ability to communicate in other laguages but Danish, let me help the perplexed readers of this guest book.

"I know my Finnish is hopeless but there appear a couple of interesting names here that cought my attention. I have heard something about that Jukka Gustavson and Eero Raittinen are having a band together, a super exciting combination. Has anybody heard them live and can tell how they sound like, and is it known whether there is a cd on its way?"

About this band I don't know. There's some Finnish discussion about Jukka Gustavson promoting some new organ in a couple of music shops in the following days. The information about these gigs, however, is scarce.

Also, Jukka Gustavson together with his band is playing a gig with the jazz-avant garde guitarist Raoul Björkenheim in April.
