Message : Juu, tuli käytyä katsomassa Celebration Day. On vaarit aika vedossa.

Cd+dvd lienee aika monen Zepu-entusiaistin jouluhjatoiveissa...

Message : TOKYO JOE (One Roll From Paradise) (Pembroke) 3:54

I'll tell you a story
About Tokyo Joe
Standing by a signpost
When Suzi said, 'Hello'
You should be out gambling
But you lost all your dough
What will your Julie say
When she gets to know?

She'll freeze your allowance
And tug you by the ear
Send you back to Turkey
Scratch you, fertilize your beer
Mr Big Time Gambler
Come along with me
I'll show you what can happen
To losers for free

Hoo, hoo, Tokyo Joe
I'll show you something
That you don't know
Ho, ho, come on let's go
I'll take you down the street
To meet Las Vegas Mo

See the doorway in an alley
A hazy rendezvous
Two-bit couples dancing
Small-time crook or two
Someone's playing
Psycho sax in the yard
Bad mommy, bad, bad Narma
Take this, life's hard

It suddenly seemed
Like a different day
Joe kind of felt
That he'd been down this way before
At the gates of fortune
Spinning on a wheel

Numbers running
He was in on the deal
His head became
The ball in a roulette wheel
Bouncin' and a-rollin'
Like dice on a roof
Left over from the floor

Message : Straight to the centre
Of his little dog mind
To find out his owner
Tripped a trio tonight
Seems so right
Like a parrot for a teacher
Or a ghetto blaster from the ???
No limit, your money's no good

Now Suzi can you shake it
Hi, here's your head
You're only on a trick mare
Here, try this instead
"Thank you God," said Joe
In a heavenly draze
A purple torpedo
God he changed his ways

Hoo, hoo, Tokyo Joe
Next time be careful
Where you may go
Hoo, hoo, coz now you know
You just might bump
Into Las Vegas Mo

Now Suzi she's the hero
The merchant's moustache's gone
Just then he heard a wail
Oh God, it's Suzi's song
(Déjà-vu)

At the gates wheel of fortune
Call, calling you

Come back to the gates
To the dream
To the fortune
With me
Like it always ought to be

Spoken:
You could be
Just one roll from paradise
One spin from Eden
One deal from Gethsemane
Gethsemane from Babylon ... Mustang
Can you hear me captain ... I'm a big ...
Las Vegas ... We'd better ...
(Burp)

COMMMENTS PLEASE (if you have any)

Yes, that little problem, up to an occupational disease on this area.

Fortunately, I was able to take fully out of it.

Message : To end idle speculation. these are the lyrics for "Squaw Valley Non-Event". Jim added a chorus of his own.

SQUAW VALLEY NON-EVENT

Ah yes, there was the time we ended up at Squaw Valley,
‘cos we’d been sticking pins into the old Rand McNally,
and it turned into a cross-country microbus rally,
mostly in the name of love & peace.

Now, up at Lake Tahoe it was early in the season,
- not that it mattered, 'cos we'd come there for no reason,
but one thing we'd forgotten was you´re better off with skis on
when the white stuff´s like halfway to your knees.

Close to High Camp we passed the ghost of Eero Mäntyranta,
slippin' and a-slidin' like some disadvantaged Santa,
and sitting on his tail was the fabled Black Manta,
like a huge licorice Vick's above the trees.

Then some kind of weird-looking cranial cutter
pulled up ahead, and the plugs began to sputter,
a stinging light came on, I heard a whine that made me shudder,
and I figured we'd run into the police.
1
And that's when we knew our Ship of Fools had run aground,
'cos a voice came on the Alpine: "Boys, wherever you were bound,
just forget this ever happened, and turn that van around,
that you and your kin may yet increase."
1
Well now, all of this bother seemed just a bit too weighty,
so we headed on back to Interstate 80,
but then we thought we'd go check out Little Charlie Baty
and his Nightcats, playing down the road apiece.

The sign said "Sold Out", and we were fighting to get in,
'cos Charlie was on stage, doing 'Begin The Beguine',
but the grey little doorman slugged me one on the chin
and cursed us out in plain Babylonese.
1
By then it seemed time to give Squaw Valley the slip,
because the way things were going we might never get hip.
and we'd heard Papoose Lake was the hot inside tip,
for the kind of place where wonders never cease.

Message : I have put the so-far lyric for "Chord Squad" on the discussion forum. Please check it over and write in if you have any alternative suggestions to what JP is singing.

Let's see if we can get that forum up and running again. It is much better suited to the work we're doing with these lyrics than this guestbook.

I will post the other lyrics for the "Some Several Moons" CD over there as well during the next few days. When we feel we have come as far as we can, they will go back to this forum collectively on the "lyrics & chords" page.

Thanks to everyone who have contributed so far. Please keep them coming.
